Important Notice: Temporary access arrangements to the Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest
Due to road safety improvement works on Karamolegkos Street (extension of Ethnikis Antistaseos Avenue), along the section from the junction before the Kaisariani Cemetery to the Kaisariani exit of Attiki Odos, temporary traffic regulations are currently in effect.
During the works, access to the Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest is possible as follows:
- Via Papagou: Vehicular access is available via the road that continues uphill after the Papagos Cemetery, with entry to the forest and the Kaisariani Monastery through the Kalopoula area. For visitors approaching via the Hymettus Ring Road, the correct exit is Y2 (towards Papagou / Anastaseos Street).
- Via Vyronas: Pedestrian access is available from the Agios Georgios Koutalas Recreation Area (Saketa Junction). Vehicles may park at the outdoor parking area located outside the recreation area.
After the completion of the works, the usual access routes will be reinstated.
